LCD

is an abbreviation of liquid-crystal display. LCDs are monochrome or color displays commonly used in portable computers, digital cameras, video camcorders, digital watches, and other devices. The new generation of flat-panel computer displays use LCD technology as well. LCD panels on digital cameras provide a large viewing area, usually about 1.8 inches, which makes it easy for photographers to frame an image. You can also preview pictures on the spot using a camera's LCD panel. LCDs tend to lose contrast in bright sunlight, however.
